Fluoride and Sealants

Dental fluoride and sealants are two preventive measures that can significantly improve oral health. Fluoride is a mineral that strengthens teeth and helps to prevent tooth decay by remineralizing areas of teeth that have been weakened by acid. It can be found in toothpaste, mouthwash, and some municipal water supplies. Fluoride treatments can also be applied by our dental team at Dental Symmetry to provide additional protection.

Dental sealants are a protective coating applied to the chewing surfaces of molars and premolars to prevent decay in the deep grooves and crevices that are difficult to clean with a toothbrush. Both fluoride and sealants are safe and effective preventive measures that can reduce the risk of cavities and the need for more extensive dental procedures in the future.

At Dental Symmetry, we recommend the use of fluoride in moderation in combination with good oral hygiene practices, to help achieve and maintain optimal oral health. We use biocompatible sealant materials to aid in maintaining the highest level of dental oral health for children and adults.
